After abandoning Steven on some unnamed planet in some unnamed time period, the Doctor and Dodo are flying solo at the beginning of this adventure.
This serial is already very exciting, because not only does it actually have footage (we’re nowhere near out of the Forest of Missing Episodes, but this is a nice reprieve), but also it has this neat little animated custom title card:
Holy shit, okay, so they’re back in London in the 1960s, and it turns out that the theme of this serial is probably going to be the BT Tower?? Which wouldn’t have been a big deal to me five years ago before I lived in London (Torchwood being based in Canary Wharf and that stupid Elizabeth II coronation episode being in Alexandra Palace both meant nothing to me), but now I live in London and work within walking distance from the BT Tower, this is thrilling. I can see the BT Tower from my bedroom window. Granted, I can only see the little bulbous head because I’m not a millionaire so I obviously don’t live in Central London, but even so, this is a little bit like they set an episode on my street, or something. This must be what it feels like to live in Cardiff and be a Doctor Who fan.
I know this one is missing, but I had to post it due to Chameleon!Jamie and Ben & Polly’s departure…
Doctor: You really want to go, don’t you?
Ben: Well, we won’t leave, Doctor, if you really need us.
Polly: The thing is, it is our world.
Doctor: Yes, I know. You’re lucky, I never got back to mine. All right,
then. Off you go. Now go on, Ben can catch his ship and become an
Admiral, and you Polly, you can look after Ben.
Polly: I will. You will be safe, won’t you?
Jamie: I’ll look after him.
Ben: I’m sure you will, mate. Goodbye, Doctor.
Snatch whatever you like. Credit not totally necessary but always appreciated. If there are any scenes or characters in particular you’re looking for, please let me know.
